Secure your client account with Multifactor Authentication (MFA) and Salesforce Authenticator!
5 min reading
Salesforce takes the protection ofyour data very seriously, and understand that the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your data is vital to your business.
As your partner in protecting yourcustomer data, we’re announcing that, beginning February 1, 2022,Salesforce will begin requiring customers to enable MFA in order to accessSalesforce products.
What is MFA and why is Salesforce requiring it?
MFA is a secure authenticationmethod that requires users to prove their identity by supplying two or morepieces of evidence (or “factors”) when they log in.
One factor is something the userknows, such as their username and password. Other factors are verificationmethods that the user has in their possession, such as an authenticator app or securitykey. By tying user access to multiple types of factors, MFA makes it muchharder for common threats like phishing attacks and account takeovers tosucceed.
What is the MFA requirement?
All internal users who log in toSalesforce products* (including partner solutions) through the user interfacemust use MFA. To ensure that MFA is enabled for all your Salesforce users, youcan turn it on directly in your Salesforce products or use your SSO provider’sMFA service.
When does the MFA requirementgo into effect?
The requirement begins on February1, 2022.
We encourage you to begin planningnow for this change.
